Yes, On The Road, surely. Along with that, I'd vote for Tom Wolfe's Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test and Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, by the great Hunter S. Thompson.
I agree on Hunter S. Thompson's work.. (The Rum Diary, Hell Angel, Kingdom of Fear too are among the favourites.)

Why do claim that "Islam is a cancer on humanity and should be expunged." Care to elaborate..?

Well, Peachy, have you ever lived in an Islamic theocracy, and seen first hand how wonderful things are in a country dominated by the Islamic religion? You got a girl friend or daughter? How'd she feel about that?

Have you lived in any theocracy at all? Whether Hindu, christian or islamic the results are never good. Dont confuse politics with the religion itself. Islamic is a normally peaceful religion (er.... same as christianity really). Its just undergoing a cultural backlash- same thing happened during the reformation for christians.

Yeah, that "cultural backlash" is really something, ain't it?

Don't try to make excuses for the savage vile vomitous actions of a religion and act like they're OK. And don't dredge up something that happened a thousand years ago to compare christianity with the semi-human islamic nonsense thats going on today.

Dodg... I mean Putzer... have you ever read Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan? If not, I highly recommend it if you're a fan of his.

No, no, no! There are certainly problems in Islam. However there remain problems in Christianity. Recently a clandestine church sect in my community was exposed. Many of the members went through gruesome rituals and frequent brainwashing. But i dont take that small group of christians as representative of all of christianity and neither should you do the same with Islam. There is nothing intrinsically vile in Islam. It has just been hijached by social conservatives- thats all.

What was prejudicial about his claim?

As for the Koran, it does not belong with Jewish and Christian scripture.[/b]
It certainly has an affinity with the Old Testament; Jehovah is renamed Allah and some extra fireworks are added to the bells of hell awaiting 'unbeleivers'.

Well, General, what do you think about Truman Capote saying 'that's not writing, that's typing' when asked about 'On the road' being written in 3 weeks by K.?

I thought it was a rude statement for such an awesome book, specially coming from such a fine writer.

His ignorance of Islam is well-documented in prior threads. Dismissing a major world religion without knowledge of it is the very definition of prejudice.
