Like I said, if you STUDY actual science instead of your clear obsession with WEAPONIZATION of science you might have seen the fact new work is being done electrolyzing water, you remember the formula for water? H2O, two hydrogen atoms in a micky mouse shaped affair with the H2 at that magic 105 degree angle.
Anyway electrolyzing water with high energy efficiency could produce industrial scale hydrogen production which would mean changing all the gas stations to have H2 as an alternate fuel but it can be done. The nice thing about H2 is when burned, it just turns back to water so there are no fossil fuels used.

You are clearly stuck in the 20th century, the only thing that will help your ICE cars is hydrogen, the production of which now is near 100% efficient so maybe H2 will take off,
I know someone who works in hydrogen. He's a fool, too, but even he is not fool enough to believe that hydrogen itself is the solution. In fact, hydrogen clearly isn't even remotely good enough for vehicles, which is why his company is focusing on industrial sites.

Fossil fuels can be used as a source to produce hydrogen for a lot less money. Electrolysis is way too expensive and will never compete with fossil fuels.

So any new research on electrolysis, now getting more and more efficient at producing H2 and O2 is research you would WISH to be suppressed because that would not be anti US enough.
