SHouse is going to tell us he is not a dictator, yet, he does this? And 19M students have simply stopped paying and do not care. Biden does not have congressional approval nor SCOTUS approval. This is a threat to democracy. It is a cost which falls on the backs of taxpayers, We have a $2T budget deficit. Why don't they pay their own loans, ,,,,,why do people who DID pay their student loans have to pay off the loans of these parasites. And who in the future will ever pay their loans back? Why don't universities use their endowment money to pay off the loans?
Why do you lockstep fellers ignore this? Are you listening to Marauder who says no money is being spent by our govt to pay down the loans? So, what are they paying the loans off with?
@AverageJoe1 saidHow many times does this have to be explained to you?

They are owed to the US government and to the extent any have been forgiven, partially or in full, nothing changed hands.
And the Biden administration claims it has Congressional approval for its actions and, so far, the highest appellate courts agree with them. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/appeals-court-allows-part-of-biden-student-loan-repayment-plan-to-go-forward/ar-BB1pepmm?ocid=BingNewsSerp
AJ has been told these things literally dozens of times on this board.
@AverageJoe1 saidthe reason you're so buthurt about this is because you're a dumbass who has never gone to college and never will.

Yet, like all dumbasses, you think you have a shot at becoming a millionaire which is why there hasn't been a peep out of you about all the millionaires and billionaires whose loans have been forgiven.
A republican who is a hypocrite? No way, what a rare mythical creature
@no1marauder saidThen explain this. And, Define 'cost the government'. Standing by. Keep it simple, Sue may be listening. Also, sue thinks the government has its own money when it does not have a penny. It is 'The Peoples' money.
How many times does this have to be explained to you?
""All told, Biden's debt-cancellation plans will cost the government $559 billion in foregone revenue over the coming decade, according to analysis from the Penn Wharton Budget Model. Biden is proposing no new revenue to cover the cost, which means it goes straight on top of the pile of what America owes to its creditors.""

Biden is proposing no new revenue to cover the cost, which means it goes straight on top of the pile of what America owes to its creditors.
Then there is this. It is 'explained' all over the web,
""How much will Biden's student loan bailout cost?
President Biden's Student Loan Scheme Could Cost Taxpayers $1.4 Trillion. President Biden's continued student loan “cancellation” scheme not only incentivizes skyrocketing tuition but also punishes working-class taxpayers, exacerbating our nation's debt and deficit crisis in the process."
@Zahlanzi saidAre you being facetious about people who never even went to college, seeing their tax money going to these parasites, who have said they will use the windfall to travel and dine out.?
oh no, what a horrible and cruel dictatorship. let me get the violin, the smallest one
dumbass
Do you think they will travel to Romania? It is tops on my list!!
You really write loser posts.
@no1marauder saidSilly guy. If I owe Aunt Sally $10,000. (She loaned me $10,000 out of her savings account left to her by her deceased husband, to live on......)
No money has been used to "pay off" student loans.
So, I owe it back!! If I do not pay it back, she will be out $10,000. She will have the equiv of a deficit in her budget, of $10,000.00.
You seem to be suggesting that the 'loaner' is not out the money. Are you suggesting to Sue and everyone, that, the loaner of the money, be it the school, or a bank, or some tuition program, is not out the money???
Are you seriously going to dig the hole here? You will certainly not admit you are wrong, so we can't wait!!!
@Zahlanzi saidI wish I were you and live in Romania!!!!!!!!!!! Paradise.

@AverageJoe1 saidI've read such quotes. They are based on unrealistic assumptions, like that every penny of that debt will be repaid. But 8 million of those debtors were in default as of September 2021 and 10% of those were over 62. https://www.politico.com/newsletters/weekly-education/2023/12/04/new-data-on-federal-student-loan-defaults-00129833

So the real number over 10 years is likely to be significantly lower.
And it's simply not true Biden hasn't proposed measures which would increase revenue far in excess of any lost because of a partial student loan foregiveness; in fact, right wingers are howling about them. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/biden-budget-plan-would-raise-us-taxes-by-4951-trillion-over-decade-treasury-2024-03-11/

The effect of student loan foregiveness is just like a tax cut (right wingers love those) except this one is targeted to working and middle class adults rather than primarily benefiting the wealthy.
We've been over this dozens of times but your hatred and envy for those working and middle class kids who were ambitious enough to get an education you clearly lack keeps getting in the way of you accepting reality.
Empty the cup, Joe.
@no1marauder saidWhat number do you speak of, Mr. Wordsmith? You have said no money to be paid, yet money is calculated with numbers. So, what numbers,... since you have said there will be no money, thus no money to count, thus no numbers, and no need for calculating machines.

The Marauder Duck is under way!! The un-artful dodger.
Libs will NOT admit defeat, I do it all the time. Actually it makes me feel human.
@no1marauder saidI have often corrected, as you have , that it does not pay off, but rather reduces debt to a certain formulated degree. It may apply $20k to an existing larger debt. We all know that.
I am correcting your claim that money is being spent "paying off the debt". It isn't.
The effect of student loan foregiveness is just like a tax cut
So,now explain to sue that it is just like a tax cut. And for whom?, Is it tax cut for the plumber who did not go to college as he sees his taxes go to the debt of his neighbor's daughter?
Throw in the towel. Marauder.
