Trump wasn't charged with "possessing documents". He's charged with knowingly taking classified documents with him that weren't declassified, conspiring to lie to the FBI, etc.
Unlike Trump, Biden cooperated with returning documents; Trump outright refused. Had Trump simply cooperated with the FBI like Biden did he wouldn't have been charged.

Dear Joe - As I've told you countless times before, none of us have all the evidence that the prosecutors have. It's quite possible that the case against the Bidens is weaker than that against Trump. In addition, the Bidens are smart enough to keep their mouths shut and let their lawyers do the talking, while Trump opens his mouth to anyone who will listen and gives the prosecutors pretrial statements that can be used against him in court. Neither you, nor your media outlets have all the facts, so don't presume to judge the Bidens. How many more times do I have to explain this to you?

They are smarter than the mainstream media would have you believe, but they don't show that because males like to obsessively treat them as sexual objects and that of course includes making them seem as dumb as possible. Biden didn't know he had them (and he was VP, by the way) and immediately gave them back to the National Archives when asked.
