Biden announces all-female senior press team
US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed an all-female senior press team, in what his office claims is a first in the country's history.
The team will be led by Kate Bedingfield, former deputy campaign communications director for Mr Biden.
Jen Psaki, who was President Barack Obama's White House communications director, will be press secretary.
Mr Biden has promised to build a diverse administration that reflects the country.
"I am proud to announce today the first senior White House communications team comprised entirely of women," Mr Biden said in a statement.
"These qualified, experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to building this country back better."
The two top press aides to Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris will be Symone Sanders and Ashley Etienne.
Last week, he said his selection is "a team that reflects the fact that America is back". He added that his team would keep the country "safe and secure" while leading the world.
The post that was quoted here has been removedGadaffi often had his female bodyguards dressed in mini skirts and high heels, some of whom claimed they were raped. Their appointment were obviously for his own personal enjoyment rather than "feminism".
Your comparison of Biden to an unhinged dictator is idiotic.
The post that was quoted here has been removedNo, your comparisons are idiotic.
Biden's appointment of women isn't merely "symbolic", they are deliberate attempts at promoting diversity, including opening up doors for women being represented equally.
None of the world leaders or cultures in your examples have any intent making in women truly equal to men, unlike with Biden. This makes your attempt at a point a stupid one.

The post that was quoted here has been removedThat's irrelevant. Whether Biden is sexist or not, committed sexual harassment or not, doesn't change that he is actively taking steps that promote equality for women, including putting a woman in the second highest office in America, the highest position ever held by a woman.
The governments in your example have no such aim of giving women power, for any reason. Biden's actions will result in women having actual influence and power in government. Regardless of his actual feelings on the matter, Biden's actions are opening major doors for women and giving them say in government.
The post that was quoted here has been removedYou have a long history of poor reading comprehension which is now making it's way here.
The topic is specifically whether Biden is actively making steps to improve the condition of women in government; to THAT specific issue, his feelings on woman don't change the fact that he is. What Biden is doing in appointing so many women to important positions is a great step forward.
I've already acknowledged Biden is a creep and quite possibly a sexual assaulter on this forum; I'm the only non-Republican on this site who said Biden should've stepped down after Tara Reade. So don't try to twist this into a defense of him.
Biden *may* have wronged women; but Biden *is* giving significant power to women in government, unlike your flawed examples of Saudi Arabia or Gaddafi.
