Other Presidents have tiptoed around it, but Joe Biden finally put the word "genocide" on the Ottoman Empire campaign of slaughter against the Armenians more than 100 years ago.https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/biden-says-1915-massacres-armenians-constitute-genocide-2021-04-24/

The Turks aren't happy.

Anyone here disagree with the President's decision?

I do agree with Biden at this point.

Just for information: did any president acknowledge the genocide against the aboriginal people in America?

Oh and just to be clear I am ashamed that German authorities did not yet acknowledge the genocide against the Herero and the Namaqua.

I agree and I think the timing is good considering the recent conflict in Nagorno Karabakh.

the president's decision was righteous, no doubt, but was his nod of approval needed at this time?
Slowly, we are pushing Turkey into a corner. Sanctioning them because they bought Russia's S-400 sams??
And now this. hmmm

I don’t think it’s about arms sales I think it’s about doing the right thing.

Turkey shouldn’t be flirting with Russia. What comes around goes around.

I have been watching this dance between Russia and Turkey with keen interest. As the US pushes hard at Turkey,
It will likely force Erdog to make stronger ties with Russia and China. The US has two air bases in Turkey.
Keep angering Erdgo and we could see the US airmen imprisoned and the planes confiscated before long.

Diplomacy 101: Don't needlessly b'yotch slap an ally.
