This isn’t happening in a geopolitical vacuum, the US led plan for Saudi, Israel and themselves to be a counterbalance to Iran and its proxies in the region will surely have affected irans decision to send Hamas into Israel in order to scupper the plan by virtue of Israel’s classic over response to the invasion. They have a history of killing at least 5 times as many Palestinians as they lose from their own military and civilian ranks.
Saudis nvolvement will not survive the massive loss of civilian lives that Israel is about to impose on Gaza

All American citizens got out safely except those in the military unfortunately killed in the bombing at the airport. The withdrawal was actually a brilliant logistical success considering the numbers pulled out in such a short window.

Far from being a deterrent, it and the US rush to provide extra munitions to Israel while it is waging an indiscriminate slaughter in Gaza will almost certainly encourage Netanyahu to continue his campaign as long as possible. And since Israel and Hezbollah have already traded shots, political logic will eventually compel the US to launch air strikes in Southern Lebanon which will surely lead to increased civilian deaths.

Better to stay out of this mess; there are no "white hats" here.

Well time will tell but the impression is that they are there to suppress any other regional actors from getting involved which would drag the us into a regional conflict for sure regardless of where the fleet is right now.
I don’t think it’s politically viable for any US regime to allow Israel to be attacked on multiple fronts by proxies of Iran.
I would hope it’s also not politically viable for the US to keep feeding Israel ammo with which to pummel the civilians of Gaza for any length of time. It’s difficult though if the US allows Israeli munitions to deplete too far they would threaten Israel’s defensive position re its many adversaries in the region but nobody should want to facilitate the slaughter of Gaza’s civilians indefinitely.

Israel is deliberately attacking civilians now as well as imposing a blockade of even food to Gaza. Both are as much violations of the laws of war as Hamas has committed in their operation.
