Who can argue with these quotes:
""Donald Trump has been a toxic presence in our nation for four years. Poisoning how we talk to one another. Poisoning how we treat one another. Poisoning the values this nation has always held dear. Poisoning our very democracy,"
""Trump has sought to remake this nation in his image: Selfish, angry, dark and divisive. This is not who we are. At our best, America's always been -- and if I have anything to do with it -- it will be again, generous, confident, an optimistic nation, full of hope and resolve,"

@no1marauder saidFrom my point of you, your very post here is quite divisive. Creepy stuff.

@AverageJoe1
Marauder, could you comment to the group of your take on the Democrats removal of the words ‘under god’ from the Pledge of Allegiance ? (I hope you will forgive the caps in Pledge of Allegiance, that is the only way I seem to be able to type it).
So, what do you think?
If I scream and yell at mom for candy and she gives in and lets me have it I will do more next time to get more.
I am not a kid, I am just using that as an example.
A Biden victory could and probably will cause more chaos.
People who get a taste for power want more.
I do not see the right wingers causing chaos if Biden wins.
@AverageJoe1
Do you think it authoritarian For Trump to issue an executive order Providing for 10 year jail sentence for toppling a statue?
@e4e5f4d5 saidWell said. I agree of course, and of course if Trump wins they will tear everything to pieces for a very long time. As to their continuing when Biden wins, yes they will but in a different format. To them it will be celebrating. God knows what these people will be celebrating. Good post

You are aware those words weren't in the pledge until 1954? https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/the-man-who-wrote-the-pledge-of-allegiance-93907224/
@averagejoe1 saidThe President has no power to issue executive orders imposing criminal sanctions, so yes it would be "authoritarian".

@no1marauder saidSay what? His executive order, whatever it is, is in full force and effect until some other entity such as a court deems it unenforceable. So it stands as law today. It is best not to change the minds of some of our younger people on this forum.

Maybe you could cite the part of the Constitution or the statute that gives the President any power to enhance criminal penalties or create criminal laws by executive order.
Thanks in advance.
