What do people here think of Bill Moyers?

I just hear part of an interview with Mike Lofgren. This should give you an idea of its content:

"There is the visible government situated around the Mall in Washington, and then there is another, more shadowy, more indefinable government that is not explained in Civics 101 or observable to tourists at the White House or the Capitol. The former is traditional Washington partisan politics: the tip of the iceberg that a public watching C-SPAN sees daily and which is theoretically controllable via elections. The subsurface part of the iceberg I shall call the Deep State, which operates according to its own compass heading regardless of who is formally in power."

Opinions on Bill Moyers? Moyers & Company?

Another anti-goverment goofball that thinks we should do away with government, go back to trading via barter and letting folks like the Montana militia dispense justice.

To me it sounds like "Yes, Minister." So much is going on that's out of the leader's hands, and he may not even be aware of it.

I think the situation depicted is more sinister.

Why is it that any critique of government generates this type of response?

No wonder things in government only get worse.

I took Bill's reply to be intentional irony.

Interesting though, that there are few strong opinions being expressed about Moyers, when strong opinions are the currency of this forum. Is that because he's not on Fox?

Why is it that republicans call democrats socialists? They have their soundbites, we have ours.
