The Turks are asking the EU to pass blasephemy laws to 'protect Islam'. Should not the EU rather recommend the abolition of all such existing laws which, so far as Christianity is concerned at least, are completely inoperative?
Why should someone who sincerely believes that 'Allah' is but a name emanating from the overheated imagination of an Arab living 1400 years ago not be pemitted to say so?
Like 'Jehovah'(Yaweh) he has been portrayed by his adherents as a bogey-man who will destroy all 'unbelievers' who, after all, represent the majority of mankind so far as any one religion is concerned.

Correction. For 'Blasephemy' read 'Blasphemy'
there should be no such law for either religion otherwise some ashole
will want the blessed name of L Ron Hubbard protected by those vile people who denigrate Scientology or who would dare denounce the blessed name of Jim Jones or David Coresh.

They go after your whole fortune if you are so stupid as to get in their clutches. Some famous people have been thouroghly duped by that bunch, I am sure you know who I mean.
