I was worried about the transition of power there, my daughter and her family live there, she told me not to even mention his name in emails because of the wire tapping and such and she is not brazilian citizen so if she had been seen protesting the bolsonaro government she could have ended up in jail or worse.
But it seems now Bolso has backed down, told the truck drivers to clear the roads, they blocked off about half the highways in Brazil.
@sonhouse saidRight-wing assh☢les: the same everywhere. Lose an election? Have a temper-tantrum, block roads with trucks, maybe storm a seat of government. But never, never, never own up to the possibility that your fascist fantasy world just makes the average voter want to puke. No, never. Say it was a false-flag operation, or anti-fa diddit, or the media were pointing their cameras at the wrong places at the wrong times, or Satanists running a pedophile operation in a pizzeria planted false evidence.

But by no means face up to reality or take responsibility.
Yet in Brazil, at least, the top assh☢le knuckled under. That's not to say he or his followers see the light. More like Bolsonaro has realized he's not going to get the military to stage a coup for him.
@sonhouse saidDid Bolsonaro actually concede publicly? I'm not finding any news reports about that.

I also have Brazilian relatives, but I also have human relatives all around the globe.
@kevin-eleven saidNot exactly. He has said he will "comply" with the constitution, which is as opposable a thumb as you'll ever find among the knuckle-dragging acolytes of international Trumpism.

@soothfast saidIt doesn’t seem like the military are going to play ball with bolsanaro but I think he’s still working on them, hence the lack of clarity in his ‘acceptance’ speech.

@kevcvs57
These are protesters wanting Bolsonaro to use the military to take over the government.
We will see if that happens. He has a cult base just like Trump.
There is a vid after this one showing neither got 50% so there will be a runoff.
@sonhouse saidSo if there is going to be a runoff then why are Bolsonaro's idiot groupies baying for a coup?

Oh, right: their Dear Leader could not possibly boast anything less than a strong majority of the population's support. Any election result that says otherwise must surely be rigged. Wow, that does sound familiar.
