Apparently CNN, of all news sources, is hot on the trail of the Obama administration who just recently issued a decree that anyone and everyone who comes within 65 feet of the oil spill will be fined/arrested. This means that reporters are now barred from filming oil soaked birds, or a lack of booms surrounding a beach etc., much like cameras were prohibited during the Katrina fiasco. According to the reporter, it then becomes hard to shed any light on incompetance or just informing the local population as to the situation. This is all done in the guise of keeping the public "safe".
Since "W" pulled the same strings during the Katrina fiasco this is nothing new, however, for the "transparent" administraion of Obama should we hold him to a higher standard?

Requests for exceptions to the ban by reporters will be routinely granted. "9 times out of 10, probably 10 times out of ten access will be granted". http://rawstory.com/rs/2010/0704/coast-guard-bans-reporters-oil-cleanup-sites/

Meets CNN.
I will have to look further into the situation. Apparently there are a myriad of conflicting stories out there. Of all sources, I wouldn't think CNN would rag on Obama by making things up.
Your link - inevitably, I suppose - is dead.
Why not a straight CNN link? Why via some blog?

For the record, although I'm SURE that we have it memorized anyway, I bring to you the First Amendmant to the Constitution.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I've been looking and the only source of this appears to be Anderson Cooper who is trying to make money for CNN by exploiting the daylights out of this. Until I see thsi verified as official I only see some talking head trying to be prophetic. Overeach by Cooper?
Anyway, Whodey, it isn't a suspension until it is at least a written decree or law, and I'm not finding that. If that happens then and argument may begin.

The DHUC consists of 13 government agencies, BP, and Transocean and is headed by a Coast Guard Admiral. The order is here: http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/go/doc/2931/726955/

Why do you believe that keeping someone 65 feet away (for their own safety I suppose) equates to barring them from filming?
