From the article:
One mother who didn't like the cover explains she was concerned about her 13-year-old son seeing it.

"I shredded it," said Gayle Ash, of Belton, Texas, in a telephone interview. "A breast is a breast — it's a sexual thing. He didn't need to see that."
D'oh. If this is a sexual thing, I wonder if she'd consider breastfeeding sexual abuse of the baby?

"I don't want my son or husband to accidentally see a breast they didn't want to see."

I wouldn't worry too hard about this if I were that woman.

What happened to your avatar? Did it show a breastfeeding mother and her child, and was removed because it was considered inappropriate?

Actually, if you look at the picture, from a photography perspective, it's quite a nice shot.

The great thing is, all of this ridiculous public outcry probably brought them a lot of free publicity and additional subscribers.

That wouldn't get the Red Night "Seal of Approval".

No; although I don't smoke cannabis anymore, my avatar was a reference to my 420 recs. I've just had a post recced and am waiting for something funny to happen so that I can reference it in a mind-crushingly hilarious avatar/title/location combination. We need someone who's lactating to feed a certain volcano.

I agree. And it definitely doesn't have anything sexual. I am quite sensitive to sexual content and don't like to see it, but it would never have occurred to me that anyone might consider this sexual.

You could go back to your faith whale while you are waiting for inspiration. We haven't had any faith whale avatars for a long time. A breastfeeding faith whale would be even better.

I'm concerned that the young Faith Whale cannot sing the Faith Whale Song while breastfeeding. This may be why many religions forbid breastfeeding in houses of god.

EDIT I hope nobody considers hardcore baleen-on-nipple action to be sexual.

As long as the mother is singing the faith whale song to her baby while feeding xym, I don't see a problem. This gives the baby a chance to learn by listening, and the milk is good for the voice. Nice avatar!

It doesn't even LOOK like a breast, more like someone's butt!

But you see it's the implication that it's a breast that's the offensive bit.

And some of the quotes in the article are hilarious:

"Gross, I am sick of seeing a baby attached to a boob," wrote Lauren, a mother of a 4-month-old.
Well if that's gross in your eyes then you're in for a rough ride lady.

"I shredded it," said Gayle Ash, of Belton, Texas, in a telephone interview. "A breast is a breast — it's a sexual thing. He didn't need to see that."
Well no actually, breasts are a feeding thing. That's what they are actually for*. That they have become a sexual thing has nothing to do with our physiology and everything to do with preconditioning and psychology.

*I like touching them too but that's just because it's fun.

That's a very happy looking baby and an attractive, healthy looking breast.
