Why are burning flags illegal - especially when they're often made overseas ?

Burning flags isn't illegal here as far as I am aware.

In fact, I expect some see some good old flag burning next Monday, as Colin Powell is addressing some zionist fundraising dinner in Glasgow, and there'll be hundreds of protesters in attendance.

Particularly at this time of year - it'll probably be freezing. The flames from the stars and stripes and the zionist rag will keep us warm.

Nor in the United States. Johnson v. Texas decided that flag burning laws were unconstitutional in the late '80's I believe.

EDIT: In 1989. http://www.bc.edu/bc_org/avp/cas/comm/free_speech/texas.html

Thank Zeus and the Supreme Court that I don't live in a brutal, repressive society like New Zealand and Australia!

To be clear, these unConstitutional laws that were struck down
were ones that made flag-burning illegal, right?

In Texas it is a crime to punch out the lights of someone that torched Old Glory. The crime is punishable by a fine of $25.

Read Faulkner. The Snopes family are not fine, respectable citizens. Rather, the term "white trash" was invented to explain them and their kind.
