Did you have a celebration in your office regarding Christopher Ward, former long-time treasurer for
the GOP who evidently stole over one million dollars from the National Republican Congressional
Committee? Obviously, this is a more egregious offense than Spitzer's paying for sex, so I
imagine that in addition to champagne, you had caviar crepes. What songs did you sing? Did you
toast the FBI for the due diligence they showed in pursuing a thief of this magnitude?

The difference you seem to have missed is that the person who stoled from the GOP Congressional Committee wasn't a public official, at least I can't determine that from the facts you provide. I assume that he is some GOP Party official and I'm sure he will be prosecuted by the GOP.

Spitizer on the other hand was an elected public official.

See the difference?

I'd be interested though if you could post a link to the story about Christopher Ward..

Well, its the same as getting one from you Duecer, we agree on a topic or two but for the most part are politically diametrically opposed in our views. Therefore when you post, it sounds like your quoting from the John Edwards campaign (oh wait he dropped out) party line.

still, take away the politics and your a pretty decent person (smiles)

Just curious.

Do the National Republican Congressional Committee funds come from taxpayers or donations?

There is a NRSC and a NRCC (Senate and House) which are basically fundraising groups for the GOP National Party So if this is the National Republic Congressional Comm. that the original poster is referring to, the funds are contributions from party members and others and not taxpayer money

Even though I consider myself a independent conservative now, in my past life, I have contributed to both.

Do you think it would be difficult for me to find a news article with a corrupt Republican who
was elected within the past three months?

Don't misunderstand me: I'm not defending Spitzer; I hope he gets the book thrown at him. I
was calling out DSR because he 'rejoices' when highly visible Democrats get busted for doing
corrupt things but not when Republicans do. Given that Ward's abuse of power is, frankly, more
egregious than Spitzer's -- that is, Ward stole donated money whereas Spitzer only abused the
public trust -- I figured that an intellectually honest individual would also rejoice.

That is, I don't expect DSR to rejoice.

Ward : a regular on Yahoo news, NY Times, BBC, etc. interview backlog months deep. sits at the pinnacle of the DC glitterati food chain; parties at his flat are the social events of the season.
Spitzer: basically a nobody. can you remember hearing about him BEFORE he got into hot water?

"Christopher Ward" google hits: 2,950,000
"Eliot Spitzer" google hits: 166,000

'"Christopher Ward" corruption' google hits: 903,000
'"Elliot Spitzer" prostitute' google hits: 1,070

washington, DC: el numero uno media center. man-bites-dog stories from this town are broadcast worldwide, due to proximity to thousands of bored reporters.
NYC: a backwater that happens to host a bunch of government offices.

well, i guess nemesio's right.

No answer would at least be preferable to the bigoted drivel you regularly post here.
