She does seem to be a hardy sprout, resistant to external influences.

One observation I could make is that she loves to defend various groups of people in the abstract*, but one-on-one she likes to attack.
_____
* which comes off as rather superior, as if other people cannot stand up for themselves and need her unrequested paladinism.
You really don't know her history well enough my friend.

"Uncle", are you trying to say that I am incorrigible, and that my evolution has looked more like a devolution? 🤔

And on a relevant side-topic, haven't you often said that your past behavio(u)r was much worse than mine ever was? In that case, why don't you let me live my own life and find my own level? 😉

(especially as people seem to allow Suzi and some of the denizens of Debates quite a large amount of leeway)
Why do you prefer to point at someone else's short comings instead of looking at your own?

Is that from the trailer for "Mortal Kombat II" ?

. . . to be a gay man approaching 66, and to be hounded, scolded, and vilified by a vicious younger activist?
Is this autobiographical?

I don't believe her history could excuse her behavior.

I hope she is capable of taking charge of her presentation of self before she croaks, for the benefit of others.

Absolutely.

Because I have already arrived and am just trying to bring other people along? 😉

Since this doesn't happen, no, I can't imagine it.
The mental occlusion is so evident.

The future is more important than the past. If you cannot evolve past your trauma, it has you in a chokehold where recovery is too rare. To fulfill your destiny, you must rise above it. You have to decide the future you want. Don't dream it, be it.
Yeah, whatever, but if you cannot refrain from abusing others on the way to crafting the future, aren't you just perpetuating the trauma?

Do I? How would you know that?

@Very-Rusty said
I think it is hilarious you of all people trying to correct Suzi!!! 😛 😉

-VR
How so? If you have the time and inclination, would you mind posting a compare and contrast?

If you are abusing others then you need help psychologically at least.

Well, some people transit more difficult circumstances than others, and as for me, I'm not sure sure I would be receptive to external offers of help, no matter how well-intended.

@sonhouse said
Is this autobiographical?
Yeah, it is. It seems that a few years ago someone here latched onto me as somehow belonging to whatever demographic agglomeration they were at the time trying to defend and support, but without any consideration that I might actually be an independent sprout with my own views and ideas.

And I'll go further to say that I would rather not be considered associated with that someone, because of their chronic, detrimental behavior.

I think some people resist such help or endure it, with not much beneficial result.
