I guess its OK to wrongly blame anything BUT cap and trade on price increases in the land down under. Simply put, the global warming propoganda war is off the hook. It seems that the stakes are just too high for government to have their pile of cash threatened it seems. It's just too bad Al Gore did not have to pay $1.1 million for his lies in his movie to sell cap and trade. Fascist sickos.

But yeah, stupid rule (if the story is true). People should be able to blame price hikes on the third Moon of Jupiter if they want to, it's up to people to believe them.

It is a massive list as to what the media has blamed on global warming. Here is but a taste.

1. Increased AIDS cases

2. Increased cancer cases.

3. Increased earthquakes

4. Increased volcanic activity

5. Increased risk for astriod strike

6. Cloud increases

7. Increased risk of crabgrass taking over your yard.

And no, I'm not making this stuff up. This is not even a drop in the bucket. You will just have to check out the list for yourself.

This is actually not a new thing for Australia, the last time was in 2000 when we went from a raft of sales taxes to a country-wide "Goods and Services Tax" which boosted the price of everything except unprocessed foodstuffs and medical services by 10%. Our consumer watchdog (currently called the ACCC) initiated the anti-misinformation campaign on both occasions. Didn't stop people blaming the GST in 2000, won't stop people blaming the carbon tax in 2012. Incidentally, introduction of the carbon tax is being accompanied by a handout to disadvantaged people to cover the cost of any consequent price rises.

They did the same when the GST came in. We often do small bribes like that to keep the more ignorant of the voters happy and contented and voting the way we want them to. 😕
