Liz Cheney and co should have left it alone. Now good questions are being brought up that otherwise wouldn't. This is going to get in the craw of every democrat that wants to defend this clown show. It just got harder for you all.

Why doesn't Liz Cheney talk about those 6 capitol police officers who let the protesters in? They committed a serious crime. Sedition.
No c ...[text shortened]... ital police officers guilty of sedition?
Sonhouse is mad as hell about it and wants accountability.
Stop spamming the thread.

Was the election stolen from Trump too?
I doubt it, but open to the possibility. He said mail in voting would increase the possibility of increased voter fraud. After the news media said that was false over and over again I found out he was right. Here is an excerpt from the link below:

" the Carter-Baker report warned: “Absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud.”

https://www.bakerinstitute.org/events/2219/

So the corporate news media lied. Trump was telling the truth about that. Even a big liar tells the truth occasionally.
He sure didn't steal it from Hillary. Have you accepted that yet?

There is no footage of Capitol Police letting the rioters in. It's all BS. https://www.politifact.com/article/2021/jan/07/ask-politifact-did-capitol-police-let-mob-trump-su/

https://www.factcheck.org/2021/05/video-doesnt-prove-capitol-police-allowed-jan-6-protesters-to-enter-capitol/
Did you watch the video provided in the NPR link?
Fact checkers often spread BS. Did you watch it?

I am shocked. You think NPR is spreading BS. I am only quoting the NPR article. Don't shoot the messenger.

6 capitol police officers were suspended. If not for letting protesters in, what did they get suspended for? Did you read the NPR article at all?

Yes, I did. It's almost a year and a half old and we have far better info now.

Nowhere does it say any officers were suspended for allowing rioters into the Capitol. We have ample footage of the rioters attacking police, smashing in doors and windows and committing mayhem in the buildings.

Your right wing fairy tale is just that.

When was that report written? Well over a decade ago and it recommended changes and safeguards which were implemented.

Numerous court cases were filed and official investigations commenced regarding the 2020 election and none found any evidence of fraud which could have affected the result.

First off, I am not a right winger. You are too far to the right for me.

Nowhere does it say any officers were NOT suspended for allowing rioters into the Capitol. So I ask you again, what were they suspended for?

I never claimed otherwise, but why did the corporate news media falsely claim absentee ballots did not increase the chances of voter fraud? Trump was right about that all along.

What changes were implemented?

From the link below:

"Investigators have been looking into the response by the Capitol Police officers and whether any of the officers may have aided the rioters, according to congressional aides and some lawmakers.
Just days after the attack, it was disclosed that two officers had been suspended, according to Democratic Representative Tim Ryan. One had taken a selfie with a protester, while another wore a Trump-supporting hat and was directing protesters around the building, Ryan told reporters."

From the NBC link below:

"Former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer said he wants to give police "the benefit of the doubt" and hopes they were attempting to de-escalate Wednesday's event when they appeared to let pro-Trump rioters inside the legislative building.

"Sometimes when you don't have enough personnel, you can't stand and fight a large crowd like that," he said on NBC's "Today" show Thursday, noting that there were not enough law enforcement personnel on scene."

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/former-capitol-police-chief-shares-thoughts-why-officers-appeared-let-n1253273

Even Former U.S. Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer admits they let the protesters in. He just used the excuse that they may have been hoping to de escalate when they let them through.

no1 needs to be more cautious when searching for confirmation bias. His fact checkers lied to him and made him look foolish. All that I need to do now is find out if they still have their jobs or not. If not, they probably were simply Trump supporters. Did any of them that were being investigated commit suicide? I heard 2 capitol police officers committed suicide.

If the answer is yes it is likely they were Trump supporters who were too loyal to him. If the answer is no and they still have their jobs how the hell did that happen? Sedition or not sedition?

There is where you screwed up, TRUMP SAYS.
That is the whole point. Trump SAYS there was fraud and his base AUTOMATICALLY believed him because they are STUPID and gave up the right to think for themselves, letting Trump do their thinking for them.
The hearings going on right now are however, cutting deep into that crowd who are seeing the real Trump maybe for the first time.
A REAL POTUS does not DEMAND loyalty to HIM and HIM only.
A REAL POTUS does not throw plates at a wall when he is told he lost the election and the election was NOT rigged, there was almost ZERO voter fraud which is Trump's major talking point where even his dog Barr told him in no uncertain terms the idea of massive voter fraud was in his own words, BULLSHYTE, right to Trump's face and no matter what other things Barr did for Trump, you NEVER tell him the truth so that ONE truth Barr told him, YOU ARE FIRED, get me someone who will be loyal to ME, not that stupid constitution thingy.

The coup attempt was not JUST based on Jan 6 insurrectionists, it had many fingers into corrupt politics like the fake electors now getting their comeuppance in Georgia at least and Trump is in the middle of THAT bit of corruption also and he may go to jail based on that alone if Garland decides to let his other corruption slide.

Nothing in those ancient articles support your claim that Capitol Police allowed rioters in. The NBC link is the day after the riot and quotes person who was Capitol Police Chief from 2002 to 2006. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrance_W._Gainer Obviously he had no more information than what he was told by reporters and others.

The far more recent fact checks I alluded to with information not available when the articles you keep relying on were published are to the contrary.

Taking a selfie with protestors or wearing a Trump hat on grounds for discipline but hardly "sedition".

Why don't you learn to Google? I put in "Capitol Police disciplined" and the first hit was this USA Today article:

"The disciplinary actions include three for conduct unbecoming and one each for failure to comply with directives, improper remarks and improper dissemination of information."

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/09/12/6-us-capitol-police-officers-recommended-discipline-jan-6-riot/8307721002/

So these were minor offenses.

So no charges were filed even though they let the protesters through.
That is sedition. They must have been following orders to get a paid vacation out of it.

Here's what the co-author of the report had to say in 2021:

"“While our report noted a few good and bad examples of vote-by-mail practices, its main recommendation was that further study of voting by mail was needed,” Carter went on to explain. “In the 16 years since the report’s release, vote-by-mail practices have progressed significantly as new technologies have been developed. In light of these advances, I believe that voting by mail can be conducted in a manner that ensures election integrity. This is just one of several ways to expand access to the voting process for voters across the state, regardless of political affiliation.”

https://newrepublic.com/article/161666/carter-baker-commission-report-republican-attacks-election-reform

AND:

"Election experts point to multiple steps states and local jurisdictions have taken to improve the security of voting by mail.

The Electronic Registration Information Center, a nonprofit that helps states improve the accuracy of their voter rolls, was formed in 2012 with assistance from The Pew Charitable Trusts. The majority of states are now members of the center, and that allows them access to data showing voters who have moved within their state or out of state, have died or duplicate registrations. (One problem highlighted in the Carter-Baker report concerned double voters who were registered in two states and sought absentee ballots in both.)

Local jurisdictions have increasingly offered free ways for voters to track their own absentee ballots, such as online or through text messages or emails, to verify they have been received by election offices.

One common way to ensure that the voter is the one who cast the absentee ballot is to compare their signature on the envelope with voter registration records. That signature verification process occurs both when voters apply for an absentee ballot and when they submit their ballot in Michigan, said Justin Roebuck, the Ottawa County Clerk."

You're again gullibly falling for right wing disinformation.
