Turn on the news and what do you see and hear? Economic turmoil, the Japan quake, the mess in the Middle East, and lot's of other bad news.
It's really nice to tune out the evening news, sit down with one's favorite beverage, lose your self in the 64 squares. I had to abandon about 16 games awhile ago, so my rating took a nose dive. Rediscovering chess amid all the negative stuff in the world has been a pleasant experience. 🙂
