You all have a point, a bit of an overreaction on my part, mea culpa. But our paper routes and lemonade stands were not to support our parents, who sent us out into the world to make money. I encouraged my kids to earn money, that was the vehicle. I did not wait for them to bring me their earned money. I should at least get a Bminus for bringing this immigrant practice to the fore!!!!

I worked in the family business as a kid. Never occurred to me that I should have demanded to keep all the money I was paid by the customers.

so that I do not leave you confused with my principles, one works , one is charitable, let’s say 10% on Sunday, and one takes their profit and invests it in one way or another in their future and the future of their own family. It seems that you are saying to limit the profit of the child so that they can never get ahead by investing in three lemonade stands.
