After Biden drove the price of gas drastically up, he wants credit for taking it artificially down by 50 cents a gallon by selling our strategic reserve , still way over what it was when he took office. It will be going back up again very soon, just watch.
Meanwhile everything else continues to go up.

So, I do not get why you compare profit motives of govt with that of corporations. Maybe a thread of 'profit motivation of the government' is in order.
Issue at hand: Does government concern itself with profit?
