Yes, I admitt it. I like eating cold food that comes directly out of the refrigerator. A family member of mine was appalled and felt I should have at least warmed it up first. In their opinion, all food left overs should be warmed up before eating it. However, for me, there is nothing better than left over cold pizza in the morning the next day. It is not just pizza though, it is pretty much every kind of food imaginable. I would even eat food frozen if it were chewable. Am I alone on this? Do I need help?

You may need to buy extra toilet paper.
All previosly heated food should be warmed up enough to kill bacteria.
Thats why we cook food.
duh

We refrigerate food so bacteria doesn't grow. I especially like cold pasta myself.

My kids love frozen peas, straight out of the freezer.
I've been known to enjoy cold meat pies on occasion.

Pasta and rice are the fastest growing medium for bacteria.Faster than
cooked meats.

Some types of food are ok to have while still cold and straight out of the fridge, but most is advisable to be heated up.

Apart from the bacteria that aspviper666 talked about, your stomach will not be able to process the food as effectively as it would or get the most out of it as if it was pre-heated.

As a general rule;
Dairy products are OK cold - apart from fresh eggs (unless they were very fresh)
Red meats must be heated, especially chicken. The processed types are OK cold as they contain preservatives.
Sea food is OK cold or heated.
Fresh vegetables are OK cold or cooked
Fresh fruits are OK cold, never heated (unless in cakes etc..)

Hope this helps.

Pizza left out all night is great and I don't mean refridgerated. Chicken isn't bad so long as the skin isn't present (that stuff is horrible). Ask your family if they would like to have olives, meat and cheese on a sandwich, or a nice COLD beer. That might change their ideas on what is and isn't "good food".

He didn't say uncooked food, he said cold food, meaning it has been cooked but put in the fridge. The bacteria growth is inhibited by the cold so its just as safe as if it were re-heated. Anyway it should be less fattening, hot food has more calories than cold food so the calories of heat takes more energy to get up to body temp which uses some energy so it would be less fattening slightly.
