Our government gives away 3 times as much corporate welfare pork $$ to the Fortune 500 and fat cat defence contracts of highly dubious necessity, as to social welfare recipients. At least the Liberals spend it on educating and healing the common folks. Call me crazy, but if we have to waste our tax dollars, I'd rather waste it on the general population.
