You ARE racist and sexist, clearly.
I don’t know what a sexist is, y’all dwell on it a lot I notice.

@divegeester
You mean the decade where stuff like the murder of Emmmett Till happened because he whistled at a white girl? That kind of culture?

Conservatives are absolutely trying to bring back the 1920's. Listen to Heather Cox Richardson's 'History of the Republican Party' esp. about the rise of movement conservatism 1950-80.

And no I am NOT going to read it to you! So don't even ask. 😆

Sorry, forgot it was a US murder and unlikely to have hit the news shows anywhere else. The gist was a black teenager whistled at a white girl, a crime so egregious it deserved a lynching.

HCR is a historian from Boston College. She is disinclined to hyperbole. 😆

Take it up with her.

In the 1920s, conservatives were in favor of environmental protections and conservation of natural resources.

From the Republican party platform, circa 1920... Roosevelt would be laughed out the room by most modern conservatives.
Conservation is a Republican policy. It began with the passage of the Reclamation Act signed by President Roosevelt. The recent passage of the coal, oil and phosphate leasing act by a Republican Congress and the enactment of the waterpower bill fashioned in accordance with the same principle, are consistent landmarks in the development of the conservation of our national resources. We denounce the refusal of the President to sign the waterpower bill, passed after ten years of controversy. The Republican party has taken an especially honorable part in saving our national forests and in the effort to establish a national forest policy. Our most pressing conservation question relates to our forests. We are using our forest resources faster than they are being renewed. The result is to raise unduly the cost of forest products to consumers and especially farmers, who use more than half the lumber produced in America, and in the end to create a timber famine. The Federal Government, the States and private interests must unite in devising means to meet the menace.

Yep. Eisenhower would be condemned as 'liberal' by the party today. 😆

HCR says the GOP is actually no longer conservative. They are not 'conserving' anything.

Today's GOP are radicals. They are extremists trying to remake and remodel society into a nostalgic fairy tale that they think existed in the past.

About conservatives not liking any change or anything new.

They're actually 'reactionaries'.

Extremist reactionaries.

They never have their own ideas. All their ideas are a reaction to good ideas from the left, to 'cancel' them and squash them.

Maybe more on the left should be proud of the 'radical' label. It is what is needed today, obviously.
