This was ratified in 1788, but when do we ever get to affirm, "Okay, we're still good with that?" Never.

I'd be happy with an affirmation that the Constitution still applied to everyone, instead of just those at the top of the class structure.

You can have your Representatives propose an Amendment that cancels the Constitution any time you want.

Is the process of affirming going to change anything, or is it simply an honorary exercise?

The OP wants to "affirm" the "whole thing". Blame him not me. US Citizens can also request various other laws and Amendments but that doesn't address the OP's concerns.
