You have no concept here that women are autonomous moral adults entitled to make their own choices about their own bodies.

Your position is authoritarian and oppressive.

"The only serious way to question or criticize the scientific evidence of global warming and human induced climate change is to understand and engage with scientific evidence. Well the people refusing to look at scientific evidence are the skeptics and the Trump supporters.

You refuse to understand statistical concepts like risk, or the notion that while risk may never be the same as certainty it is certainly important enough to make contingency plans better than hiding your heads in the sand. What these plans should be is of course to be democratically decided, but you are not on the side of democracy, are you?

Other evidence you refuse to accept is that vested interests are working desperately to preserve the illusory asset value of their oil and coal reserves at the expense of , and without concern for, the public good, and the Republicans generally, the Trump administration in particular, are very deeply committed to the antisocial vested interests of the rich.

You are simply in the pocket of vested interests and too weak to use critical thinking. You open alarming articles on the net and go straight for the panic button because you lack the elementary literacy and thinking skills to question what you are told. "

I never said that I questioned that the climate was warming. What I'm saying is, questioning anything that is spoon fed to us about climate change is a big no, no. For example, Trump killing the Paris agreement sentenced us all to doom and gloom, when in reality, the agreement was pure fluff and meant next to nothing in terms of reducing carbon emissions. In fact, you fail to understand the money making schemes politicians create to benefit from climate legislation as these same people continue to live jet set lives and live in multiple mansions they heat and cool and drive around in SUV's as they preach to the rest of the world to limit their carbon emission use. From the way they live, they don't act like they believe what they preach.

How does one achieve an honest and accountable government, especially when there is no one above them that has authority over them?

That is why trying to keep things in the private sector is useful. At least government presides over them and has the opportunity to correct their abuses. However, with government there is no correction, no reform, just more and more grabbing of power without accountability.

Just look at what is in power now. Who is accountable to who?

Trump is a snow flake compared to what is to come.

The whole issue of abortion is that a baby is still a baby inside the womb. Granted, the Birth Fairy has not swung by to wave her magic wand over the infant to make them human yet ...[text shortened]... hink you get what I'm saying anyway.

Genocide is what is oppressive and authoritarian dingus.
The point of the OP was that the Republican assault on abortion is being extended to an assault on contraception and sexual health services generally.

For every woman dying of childbirth related complications in Sweden, six women die in the USA. Numbers are falling in most countries but rising significantly in the USA. Childbirth is not safe and simple in even the best societies, and the USA is among the very WORST, so a society that refuses to address the specific health risks faced by women is by any standards sick in the head.

Maybe it's time you stopped baptising your sperm every night in a lengthy onanistic ritual and began saving women's lives.

[Actually the statistics are horrifying and it is time you American Taliban got put in your proper place by women voters over there.]

That's nothing.

America's number 1 mass murderer was an abortion doctor by the name of Gosnell, something you will never hear about in the PC press.

What about this possibility - that is not nothing. A country with such excessive mortality among women in pregnancy and childbirth has a health scandal on its hands.
