Christ, even Satan would be embarrassed to be linked to the tories.

I believe Lucifer once grumbled: “Boris couldn’t roast a marshmellow in hell, never mind organise a booze up in a brewery...”

Here are the stats, deaths per million.

Peru: 1,039

Belgium: 987

Spain: 767

Brazil: 749

Bolivia: 743

Chile: 741

Ecuador: 715

USA: 711

As one can see, America compares with Third World countries and Belgium (which has a very high population density and released from lockdown too soon, and Spain which was the first EU country hit hard and hardly knew how to deal with it at first).

Now, here are the countries which did it right: locked down soon, did not release too soon, and a high degree of public compliance with science-based recommendations (masks, social distancing, etc.), again deaths per million:

New Zealand: 5

Singapore: 5

Or, in percents:

https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality

Brazil: 2.9 % case fatalities
Chile: 2.8 %
USA: 2.5 %

NZ: 1.3%
Singapore: <0.1%

Now hear Trump's lies: he says America is turning the corner. The facts are that the USA is experiencing record numbers of infections:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-54751759

At 229,000 deaths (and surging) in one year, this surpasses American combat casualties in World War I, Korea, Vietnam and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq combined.

Corbyn is not a racist or an antisemite.
Anyone who says he is is talking out their arse.

He did not handle the scandal well and didn’t take the appropriate steps in dealing with the situation. I agree on that.

However, having tories (like Patel) call anyone a bloody racist, is pig-ignorance and hypocrisy at its worst.

How do we know those numbers are accurate? Do you actually believe that every covid case has neen identified? Do you actually believe every death attributed to covid was covid? Lots of circular reasoning in your numbers as well as unreliable stats.

The bigger question is if covid is a death sentence for working age and younger.

The answer is no.

Just read that Taiwan has gone 200 days without an infection. Remarkable!
And that's a high density population with 23.3 million people. You're not
accomplishing this with masks and social distancing.

I think that genetics has a lot to do with it, as has been suggested before, as there
are some DNA markers in the SARS-CoV-2 virus that are shared with Neanderthal.

Food for thought.

Luckily, the Taiwanese didn't rely on "genetics" but put in place a pre-existing plan mandating quarantines, providing free masks to the populace, etc. etc. etc.

https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/15/how-taiwan-beat-the-coronavirus.html

Excerpts:

"She noted that Taiwan’s government had a strong plan — one that had been in place since the SARS scare of 2003 — for managing a pandemic. And there were no exceptions to the rules. “They have professionals running the show,” she said. “These are people who have trained for years for this.”"

"“There was easy access to almost free and rapid testing centers,” said Han Jin, founder of a start-up in Taiwan called LucidPix. “At every building, including restaurants, gyms and offices, they check your temperature — and you cannot enter without face masks.”

There’s also enforcement for those who don’t follow the rules. There are huge fines if people are caught not wearing masks in designated areas, such as the subway, and for breaking quarantine.

Social pressure also plays a part. Jin said that it’s become part of the culture in Taiwan to name and shame those who are not wearing masks in the subway or are breaking quarantine early. Those who do so might see their face pop up on a social media app. "

"As countries around the world feared they would run out of essential supplies, including masks, Taiwanese citizens used their national health insurance cards to purchase their allotment of masks."

"Emanuel explained that everyone in Taiwan has a health-care record tied to their name, which allows their doctors and nurses to access their medical information online. That gives health officials near real-time data on hospital visits. From there, health officials were able to send alerts to doctors about their patients at higher risk for having the virus based on their travel history.

“They could closely monitor who had been to China and Wuhan,” he said. “And then test people who had been to China, as well as those with respiratory symptoms, which meant they could get ahead of a potential hotspot.”

So you are saying that small countries relatively isolated from the rest of the world control covid better than other regions.

Nice, but over rated because covid is over hyped.

Oh no, a virus can kill a small portion of people who get sick. Say it is not so.
