From the enfant terrible presently infesting 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue:
"Trump railed against media coverage of the coronavirus pandemic: "That's all I hear about now. Turn on the TV, 'Covid, Covid, Covid, Covid."
Maybe because:
"The U.S. reported more than 83,000 new confirmed cases on Friday, shattering the previous record of more than 77,000 cases in July, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The surge has led to more than 8.4 million cases and pushed the death toll to more than 223,000 people."
Of course to the Donald:
""We're rounding the turn," Trump said even as 12 states set new case records over the last week. "We're doing great, our numbers are incredible."
Trump also gave his assessment of polls:
""You know, when I get them in my favor, I like them. When they come in my favor, I repeat them all the time. I say they're great. When they're not in my favor, I don't discuss that."

If we keep "rounding the turn" at this rate we're going to need more funeral homes - ๐
@mchill saidThe death count in the USA is exaggerated. The lock down measures have killed more people than SARS2. Some countries have it worse because of low selenium in their soil. China, for example.

@divegeester saidDon't bother. It's an article from early May absurdly claiming that COVID is a hoax because excess deaths in the US were only up slightly in the first quarter - most of a time period when the pandemic hadn't hit here. The results now are clear:
I’ll look later.
"Overall, an estimated 299,028 excess deaths occurred from late January through October 3, 2020, with 198,081 (66๐ต excess deaths attributed to COVID-19."

There's a nice handy dandy graph here showing US deaths have been above the expected figure since late March: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm
@no1marauder saidYou should if you think ad hominem attacks are impressing anyone here. If you dispute something prove me wrong. Insulting me is not debating, that is cowering from a debate while lashing out in frustration.

@no1marauder saidThe lock down measures caused more deaths than SARS2 despite less driving.

@metal-brain saidThat article just shows that COVID deaths were undercounted early in the pandemic, not your ridiculous claim that "The lock down measures caused more deaths than SARS2".
