Something I pulled up off Worldometer

US population 330.2 million
Canada population 38.1 million

Aug 25 COVID deaths
US COVID deaths - 1287
Canada COVID deaths - 6

Canada has 11.4% of population of US
11.4% of 1287 (US deaths) would be 147

@mghrn55

Well I've lived in both countries for a long time.
Canada is more spread out and we only have one "mega-city" and that is where covid hit the hardest.

The USA has many mega-cities and Americans live closer to each other. They have high rise apartment buildings all over the place. They also have an older system and that means the old houses are closer together.
Canada is relatively newer so their is more space between neighbors.
Also, from what I've seen... Americans are more about family and closeness than Canadians.
And the USA has way more old people than Canada.
The USA also has way more international travellers because of business.

These are just off the top of my head...just ideas.

Deaths in Wyoming 0.

Canada is nearly 80 percent White. Whites have one of the lowest death rates from Covid.

Yeah... Also the author is missing the regionality of the outbreaks ( southern USA ), and that several hundred thousands illegal aliens have recently crossed our southern border ( untested ) and are being relocated throughout the southern USA as we speak.

Trinidad and Tobago
Been averaging about 250 daily cases and 10 deaths per day for the last 3 months
Pop 1.3M - 0.4% of the US pop = 5 deaths.

We twice as good as the US,

The US food supply is junk as well. We have a lot of people who live on chips and soda pop.

Just under 73% but yes, majority.
But I think the main driver is the percentage Canadians vaccinated.
I pulled up numbers as of July 27th.

Canada vaccinated once - 82%
Canada vaccinated twice - 74%

US vaccinated once - 62%
US vaccinated twice - 52%

Maybe that should be taken into consideration.

US male average weight - 196lb
Canadian male average weight - 183lb
Both countries - average height about 5'9"

That is a stunning difference for neighbouring countries.

Vaccinated people still spread the virus so the only real issue is the decision people make if they want to be vaccinated or not. It's their life.

If you look at blood sugar problems and lack of nutrition the US would be a loser on that one too.
