I'm waiting to see how many of The Usual Suspects here will defend the judge's decision after seeing the photo of the inmate. Guy looks like something out of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

This is more about constitutional rights; and the judge has to follow the laws of the constitution. Even prisoners' have constitutional rights.
This has nothing to do with the Judge.
This person is also represented by the ACLU; some of the best civil rights lawyers in the nation.

That is what happens when you remove the death penalty. This man should be dead, instead he is there wasting taxpayers money and living his best life.

Where in the constitution does it say that people in prison have the right to sex change surgery at taxpayer expense?

Here's the entire constitution, it's 6 pages long, plus a couple more for the amendments. Takes a couple minutes to read. Nowhere does it talk about people in prison having the right to sex change surgery.

I will explain it once and only once to your un-educated ass.
When someone becomes a prisoner of a state for a state crime. The moment they are incarcerated the state is responsible for all of their healthcare; this goes for federal also. It does not matter if the incarcerated individual has his owe private insurance covering 100%; the state still has to cover their medical needs while they are incarcerated (that's the tax payer funded part).
Clearly doctors have agreed that this person needs a sex-change operation and treatments. I'm not a doctor and neither are you; and, I and most others here do not care what you think.
The law and court of the land has ruled; deal with it loser.
