@mott-the-hoople saidThe libs here, in effect, are saying that he just 'happened' to buy $5M of this particular stock, which was the subject of a committee ruling on the manufacture of this particular product, just before the bill was going to be passed.
maybe because he had this information...

@averagejoe1 saidTell me what was "illegal" about the purchase.
Here is a liberal saying he knows something that happened is simply not illegal. How does he know that?
It is not illegal to buy stock, I buy some every week (dollar cost averaging, etc). We are talking about a person who appears to have done something illegal in the purchase of stock.
Surely you see the difference.
@averagejoe1 saidThis Lib ain't sayin' it...

Don't smell right to me,
I'm sure The GOP will make hay...
The House is pretty busy right now
..............you noticed that right?

@no1marauder saidunknown to the public...
Technically, yes. The outcome of any vote in Congress is "unknown" until it is taken.
@no1marauder said''Alleged,'' as I have repeated, many times,
As discussed in the other thread, there was nothing illegal about the stock purchase.
investigate, serve justice and get their day in court...Simple.
Weather it's 'insider trading' or an 'insurrection,' hold 'en to account.
@mott-the-hoople saidUnknown to anybody actually, but it was pretty clear to anybody who read the media reports that the bill would pass the House if not filibustered in the Senate.
unknown to the public...
Which it did today by a 243-187 vote.
@jimm619 saidWhat is even "alleged"? A semiconductor bill passed both Houses months before the stock purchase. It was reasonably clear public knowledge that the versions would be reconciled and passed before the end of the session.

There is no insider trading where the information is public as it was here.
@no1marauder saidIt falls under the concept of having inside information, you can google the concept.
Tell me what was "illegal" about the purchase.
Did you see where his wife Nancy blocked passage of a bill that would stop this kind of crap?
Y'all really have some strange bedfellows.
@no1marauder saidI am not arguing that, you may be quite correct. So, he may be innocent. This thread is to throw light on yet more suspected Dem crap. He is a suspect of the crap. And the reason it is today's issue is because many people who know more than we do smell a rat. (I played golf all day, I am not studying the details like you and Sonhouse do). So I am simply reporting the news of the day.

Again, if he is so innocent, why dump the stock? Based on your saying that it was all a no-brainer that the bill would pass, Pelosi knew that he would make $300K on the backs of others, but threw it all away.
Since you profess to know that he is innocent, then tell us why an innocent man would throw away $300K.
You libs make us type too much.
@averagejoe1 saidI can't read minds and don't have sufficient information for meaningful speculation. As someone already pointed out, a later sale would be no defense to an insider trading charge, so your guess is clearly wrong. Maybe he decided it wasn't worth the negative publicity; he's stupid rich a few hundred grand is chump change to him.

Nvidia is considered a pretty good long term investment; I have some myself in one of my IRA's portfolio. No "insider trading" is necessary to think favorably towards it.
@no1marauder saidWhatever, he smells and he skipped. You are right, of course, he certainly did not want the publicity.

Case closed. Did you see the 22 second video on the Glock? I LOVE that stuff. Difficult to picture anyone I know hijacking a car.
@no1marauder saidyou waited till after the vote to post this...LOL

@mott-the-hoople saidSo what? Everybody knew it was going to pass the House (except you and the Washington Examiner apparently).

I didn't realize the vote was going to be today but my post is about an hour and a half after my prior one. Some of us work ya know.
@no1marauder saidWork is for suckers. 😐
