IMO This was just a distraction and way out of attornment for his actual crimes of murdering nursing home patients by the THOUSANDS with his wonderful COVID policies early on in the plandemic.

Didn't this guy just get an Emmy?

Now the dem machine is all on board for him to turn in his resignation. The tactics employed here are so thinly veiled. Crap political theater at its best...

Oh yes, the old putting covid cases back into retirement homes.

I believe both sh76 and No1 supported this policy.

Where were people who lived in retirement homes supposed to go after they no longer needed to be hospitalized?

Right wingers constantly fail to mention that the retirement homes were told to isolate those with COVID from other residents or inform the State Health Department if they could not. Cuomo on April 23, 2020:

"They have to readmit COVID-positive residents, but only if they have the ability to provide the adequate level of care under Department of Health and CDC guidelines. If they do not have the ability to provide the appropriate level of care, then they have to transfer that patient or they call the Department of Health, and the Department of Health will transfer that patient."

Basically, you're lying about the policy.

Anyway...It doesn't seem like he is going to go peacefully. I'm surprised Biden came out against him, he was touted as being the new face of the democrat party on a national level not too long ago, and Biden himself didn't drop out after the Tara Reade allegations were made against him. I mean, Cuomo probably rightly figures the press will just let it go now, like they did with Biden, and nothing will come of it.

That was a "hospital ship" i.e. a place to treat patients seriously ill with COVID19.

It was not sent to store the tens of thousands of elderly patients who had recovered from COVID.

EDIT: Actually it wasn't supposed to accept COVID patients at all originally:

"The ship arrived in New York’s Pier 90 exactly one month ago with the mission of accepting non-coronavirus patients to alleviate the burden on local hospitals,"

If it left without treating over 200 patients...why were they reporting people dying in the streets of NY because of over burdened hospitals?

I don't remember. but I recall seeing reports of this nature in the beginning of it. What I can find searching now is that overflow hospitals remained virtually empty.

So we have come full circle. There seemed to be no need to rush people back to their nursing homes other than to spread COVID among the most vulnerable in our society, and increase the death toll.

The policy was a disaster. (No1, I know he gave them the out "only if they could handle the patients," etc., but the policy put pressure on the nursing homes and, if not forced, then at least caused them to admit the COVID patients; so I don't completely agree with your defense of Cuomo.)

Still, it was a mistake, not murder like some people scream now. The purpose was to make room in the hospitals. So, as soon as patients could be moved out of the hospital, this would cause them to be moved. It was clearly a tragic mistake in retrospect, but it's not like there was no logic behind it.

I do agree that this tragic mistake should have taken a bit of the arrogance out of Cuomo, but of course, Cuomo by nature is extremely arrogant.

“ The purpose was to make room in the hospitals”

There was plenty of empty hospital beds.
See link in post above this one.

It was a callous political stunt to make Trump look bad and cause as much fear and damage as possible. The democrats are complicit with china on deliberately spreading the virus.
