So you visited those countries and know what is going on. When did you go, what country did you visit? Were you there more than a day?
I don't have to visit them I have a computer.
Are you telling me the thousands of videos of Paris, Oslo, etc are fake?

Refugees are people who feared for their lives and left their home country, usually with nothing because staying where they were was far more dangerous than a life on the run, to hopefully find a new place to live, where they can raise their children in peace.

And you want to send them back?? What is wrong with you? Repatriating refugees, when nothing has changed in their home country, has got to be one of the more pure forms of evil.
I would not want to send anyone back to a warzone. That would be irresponsible.

But this is not what Denmark is aiming to do -- they wish to repatriate people to Damascus, which is now a safe city. ISIS has been destroyed, and the civil war has cooled down completely.

If it is the case that some of these people can demonstrate that they are threatened in particular by the Assad regime, I understand how it would be the case that the Danish government ought to make an exception.

But so far, they are just moving slowly to begin the repatriation process, and even giving them something like $26,000 to start their life there.

Do you know how amazing that is?

Syria's GNI per capita was last measured in 2007 as something like $1,800 USD; let's say that it has somehow managed to go up in spite of the Civil War... To, say, $3,000 USD (a generous number)...

They still have enough money to live without doing anything for eight and a half years at what would be a 'median' level.

(1) Assad should actively crush the rebels.

(2) They are being repatriated to Syria with something like $26,000 USD; an enormous sum. They can easily integrate into middle class areas of Damascus or other places and help rebuild the country they are from.

There is, of course, some level of danger that can exist, as the place will likely not be safer than Denmark in our lifetimes, but some of these risks are acceptable.

I am sure the Danish government knows more about what they are doing than Duchess.

So, you’ll take your kids to Damascus on holiday this Summer, will you?

Thought not.

Yes. Having been in Paris, unlike you... yes, I am telling you right now, straight up, that those videos you've been watching are fake.
