In the year 2003, 35,000 people died because of a heat wave that hit Europe.
The main sufferer in this was France, where 14,802 people died

They figured that out, but also how the various regions are likely be affected and how this will vary between them, no doubt this will be very good when concerning populations of people; who will be affected, possibly how resources should be concentrated, etc.
