Because Sudan is the ars-end of earth and it's conflict has little, if any, effect on the west. It's the same reason we didn't hear much about Burma.
If you weren't bombarded with media coverage about the Middle East would the wars there have any more or less impact on you than the wars in Africa?

I'm sure they could get them some of that weaponry if Uncle Sam redirected some of that funding Israel's been enjoying ... Why doesn't he do that? After all, as the indignant one who originated this thread has pointed out, more people are dying in Darfur, and it seems the Israelis can take care of themselves.
