I reckon he is acting out honour and sound principle. He actions certainly dont look to help him personally or his party.
What is more David Davis is right that our civil liberties are being stripped by this government. I think although he will be pillired for standing up for he believes in, and he will put the nail in the coffin of ID Cards further down the line

The post that was quoted here has been removedI think there's a serious risk that his constituents aren't too bothered about their civil liberites, and are more concerned with issues like fuel prices.
Which means Davis is vulnerable to someone high profile standing on a pro 42 days stance and winning his seat.
Though I'd rather have Davis than kelvin mcKenzie in the Commons.
