Dear Democrats - I'm afraid all your hand wringing over Donald Trump won't get you any closer to winning back the Whitehouse. Though Trump's approval numbers are no better than 45%, the Dem's are even worse. Please consider:

* Guns - You won't win this one. Any attempt to keep guns out of the hands of children, criminals, and mental retards will be met with the standard: "Them Libs are tryin to take ALL our guns away!" Americans don't care how many innocent people die in senseless gun violence, so save your breath.

* The Environment - The Greenpeace branch of the Democratic party will be able to move the political needle a few points, but not much more.

* Women - The predicted tidal wave of female discontent over Trump's attitude and comments about women was little more than a mud puddle of votes in the 2024 election. Former tennis pro Chris Evert summed it up this way: "It's as if women are afraid of losing their 2nd class status" Don't look for this to change anytime soon.

The Economy - Yes, Wall Street is soaring while the working class is struggling, but they are not struggling badly enough to move the Dem's into the lead over the GOP.

Image - In this modern era where image counts for more than results, the Dem's are getting hammered. Trump may very well be an arrogant, ignorant blowhard, a convicted fraudster, convicted sexual abuser, and failed businessman, but he's spent decades crafting the image of a strong, decisive leader. I'm sorry to say, the Democratic model of a female candidate, deeply concerned about the rights of every racial and sexual minority, and common wage earners is not a winning strategy.

Democrats - The next 2 elections can be successful one's for you, but not until you find candidates Independent and swing voters can get behind AND find a central message they believe is important to them - and you haven't done either of these yet.

I think they can win pretty easily by saying they will repeal the big beautiful bill and replace it with a fiscally responsible version. Hammer over and over again all the harm to national priorities that this bill did. Use specific examples of highly qualified government workers replaced by trash incompetence.

Unlike Republicans, Democrats aren't going to change horses in midstream, to match what is apparently popular opinion. Kowtowing to the Republican narrative that Democrats ignored what Americans want is insulting to Americans.

American support for this president will drop off a cliff. Then finally, Democrats can come back with "We told you so". The plurality of Americans hypnotized by Trump's carnival barker mentality will eventually come back to the fold of supporting ALL Americans, not just those who are white, as his authoritarian dreams come to life and people can finally see the Emperor has no clothes.

You mean enslaved blacks? Blacks held on plantations owned by those white men? People like you who think blacks are incapable of leadership positions? Like they were gonna give blacks a voice. Get F'ing serious.

I hope so but haven't seen much evidence of this yet.

I was under the impression he was a Dem but running for mayor of NYC, not the “leader” of the Democratic Party. 🤔

If the best the Democrats can come up with is, we’re not Trump, they’re dead in the water. Voter turnout was poor last election; my guess is, the nearly 1/3 who did not vote loathed Trump personally, but couldn’t warm up to the Democratic lack of vision and charisma.

Well they do have a “bit” of time to choose a “contender” for the Nov ‘26 midterms right?

Newsom’s workin’ on it. At any rate, he has out-foxed Fox. That’s a great start. 😆

Wise men founded the country; stupid ones can still ruin it.
