The following are lyrics to a song (Dear Mr President) written by Pink. Although some of the sentiments may seem simplistic, they are heartfelt. What do people think about the lyric?
Dear Mr. President
Come take a walk with me
Let's pretend we're just two people and
You're not better than me
I'd like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly
What do you feel when you see all the homeless on the street
Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep
What do you feel when you look in the mirror
Are you proud
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
And tell me why
Dear Mr. President
Were you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
Are you a lonely boy
How can you say
No child is left behind
We're not dumb and we're not blind
They're all sitting in your cells
While you pave the road to hell
What kind of father would take his own daughter's rights away
And what kind of father might hate his own daughter if she were gay
I can only imagine what the first lady has to say
You've come a long way from whiskey and cocaine
How do you sleep while the rest of us cry
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye
How do you walk with your head held high
Can you even look me in the eye
Let me tell you bout hard work
Minimum wage with a baby on the way
Let me tell you bout hard work
Rebuilding your house after the bombs took them away
Let me tell you bout hard work
Building a bed out of a cardboard box
Let me tell you bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
You don't know nothing bout hard work
Hard work
Hard work
Oh
How do you sleep at night
How do you walk with your head held high
Dear Mr. President
You'd never take a walk with me
Would you

There isn't one single ounce of originality in those lyrics.
For leftists like PINK, it's all about feelings: How does this make me feel? It's never about results. Since the Democrat-sponsored Great Society programs began in the 1960s, the American people have throw over $13 trillion towards the poor and we're the worse for it. Still, being poor in America beats the hell out of being poor anywhere else. I’ve got a question for PINK since she's so concerned: Why doesn’t she do something herself to help the homeless and the poor with all the millions she earned from her inane pop song “Get the Party Started”?

Back to the original argument: What has the pop tart PINK done to help the poor and homeless besides calling for the federalization of charity? Ironically, poverty relief programs do little to solve poverty and in fact, lead to more people being poor:

Originally posted by der schwarze RitterIt's almost impossible to regulate the monies America sets aside for the poor. There are way to many people out there collecting food stamps, or ebit monies. For example I was in line behind a person a Publix yesturday, they used thier ebit card to buy over a hundred dollars in groceries. I walked out the store shortly after them and they were loading the groceries into thier nice new looking Lexus. The goverment does try hard to help the poor, but people that I do not call Americans take advantage of it, so the poor people that are Americans( in my eyes)do not get thier fare share of it.
