    Why are presidential debates on media networks you have to pay for?

    Shouldn't all presidential debates be on free TV?

    Up to a limited number, perhaps.

    The GOP debate last week was ridiculous. Only 5 candidates and no serious contenders other than Pawlenty?

    The election is 18 months away. 18 months!!!

    Just because someone calls it a presidential debate doesn't make it so.
