The following letter was published in the Telegraph today. What better sums up the sheer culpable failure of our socialist government to get to grips with ethnic religious terrorism?
Air passengers are delayed because security profiling is ruled out
Sir - A principal reason for what Jeff Randall (Comment, August 3) calls "cumbersome" airport security is the failure to use "profiling" to speed it up.
We all know which is the target group, in terms of age and ethnicity. Yet every time you fly, you see pensioners and families with young children being subjected to the same ponderous security. With a little common sense, rather than blind adherence to political correctness, the many Saga travellers and families with young children could be directed through separate, speedier channels.
But in this topsy-turvy country, silent majorities may be regularly offended and inconvenienced, but vociferous minorities, never.

All that happens is that "the terrorist" move to another profile of people.
So if you for example target asian, pakistani orgin young guys, the terrorist move to white, older guys or black one.
The reason why we have delays (and thats a Heathrow in the main) is the lack of organistaion and BAA's reduced investment in the infstructore of the airport. They seem to be more concered with making lots of shops
I fly a lot for work and avoid Heathrow like the plague....if you travel from City or Stanstead, then thoses delays are not an issue as they have their act "sorted out".
I get stopped all the time, so I would argue that their is a policy of profiling in place already, but since I'm not a "nutter", its no big deal, its just the world we life in where ignorant people like you assume that everyone that is arab / asian and young must be a terrorist.
Heathrow in general is know to be a racist airport by its immigartion officers and the amount of people that complain about this grows each year.
If you introduce difference secuirty channels for say "white familes" as your are suggesting, thats one step away from the old South Africa polices as far as I'm concerened and a step away for tolorance which is one of the things that makes the UK such a great place to live in the world.
We all know what your trying to get at, and this is another sad attempt by you to push your right wing politics Phil (or whatever your new name is now).

We have discussed this so many times I've lost count. You always have a pop at me about having a Paikstani flag even through I'm born, rasied and work in this country.
Bottom line is BAA's lack of investment and organisation at Heathrow that causes delays
Profiling is present (unoffical)
Try traveling from another airport and you will notice the differnce in secuirty
Also, just as a FYI...the secuirty rules are not applied consistancly...in some airports you can get on a plane with lighers / matchs on other no.
In some you have to take your shoes off and in other no.
So again a lack of organisation

Ex-BNP man faces explosives charge

A FORMER British National Party member has been accused of possessing the largest amount of chemical explosives of its type ever found in the country.
Robert Cottage, 49, of Talbot Street, Colne, appeared before Burnley magistrates charged with possession of an explosive substance.
Cottage was charged under the Explosives Substances Act 1883 on Monday night after forensic experts searched his home, allegedly discovering chemical components which could be used to make explosives.
Police sealed off Cottage's home last Thursday and finished their search at the weekend.
Officers claim that their find is the largest haul of chemicals of its kind discovered in someone's home in the country.
However, the exact nature of the chemicals has not been revealed.
David Leach, representing Cottage made no application for bail.
Magistrates remanded Cottage in custody and referred his case to Burnley Crown Court where he is due to appear later this month.
Cottage, a sub-contracted driver for Lancashire County Council, stood for the BNP in the May elections in the Vivary Bridge ward of Colne.
l Police were yesterday searching a house in Trent Road, Nelson, where a 62-year-old-man was arrested in connection with the investigation.
He was last night being quizzed by detectives.
