So, Trump has devised special investment accounts for kids, for their futures. I love Trump, he does good everyday for this country.
Although you do not like Billionaires (Bernie says there should be none) the Dells have donated $6.25B to the Trump account. Aren't you glad that the billioinaires are here?
And aren't you glad for Trump?

This is an obviously corrupt stunt. If it's the Dells money, and they want to give it to kids, then donate it to the kids. Instead they are "donating" it to Trump directly. They're just adding more bureaucracy. Right? Makes no sense.

They're getting something for that money.

The kids have nothing to give them for that money.

We can postpone the party until it is clear how that all workd out.

The accounts will start in 2026 (if they start).

First money will come out much later. For sure the people magaing the accounts will make a prodit for themselves. If the acounts will actually make a profit is unclear.

Pleas post after the first money has been withdrawn with profit.

Everyone, this one is lying. The money is not going to Trump personally. I could vomit with some of the crap you people put on this Forum. Your news sources do not publish things like Trump creating this program for the benefit of our children’s futures. It just makes me want to throw up.
The money goes into the programs.

Ponder able….. are you writing to yourself? Do you realize that this post says absolutely nothing? There is nothing to be gleaned from your post. I’m sorry.

Read it again...Trump Investment Account For Kids. I said it twice. later in the paragraph, I referenced it as 'Trump account', that must have been my downfall, a perfect vulnerable target for a liberal poster.
Did you see where Marauder refused to acknowledge the due process thread? Or the way Wildgrass just above, instead of lauding Dell for the contribution, he chides the way Dell does it??? Sue says they are getting something for it!!! Like 'screw them'. Caesar then says 'they are getting a divorce'. And Ponderable?? Jesus, And you yourself,, knowing perfectly that this is a 'kid's account', feign surprise at my implying it goes to Trump? Then the way libs, take sunhouse, refuse to see the obvious?
Muddies up the forum.

Dear Sonhouse: Do you think that our country should pay for the healthcare of illegal immigrants?
He will not answer. Why will liberals not answer questions. I know why, but I want to hear a liberal say it.

Oh good Lord, they're donating to "trump accounts" but not trump?

Yikes. Get a hold of yourself.

@wildgrass

The Problem is that the current US president wants to stamp his name on everything as he is used to. So the "Trump accounts" are not actually owned by him.

The plan is that parents can set up an account for their children into which up to 5000$ per year can be invested free of tax. The children can use that tax-free for thier academic dues or for buying a "first" house.
However the legislation is not complete yet and nobody know the actual rules by which the money can be retrieved (Attention: sacmmers!).
So the Dell's have decided to give two and a half billion to everybody in cretian counties, where the median income is below 150k/y. Every recipient will get around 250$ according to some estimates.
How the donation is handled legally is quite ubncllear since the legislation is not there.

That was why I posted what I posted.

Twenty five million investment accounts. So Dell's contribution amounts to $250 in each account. In 20 years, it amounts to about $1300, but there will certainly be other contributions, so each child could realize thousands of dollars.
Thankyou donald. Always thinking A president who thinks.

Yeah, the article refers to the accounts as Trump accounts, which are in fact accounts for kids not for Trump. I guess that is just a way to identify that Trump created the account. Yeah, that must be it. or it could be a semantic problem for you, I am seeing that a lot recently. Surprised our word guru sue has not picked up on it.
Anyway, one can call something, no matter what it is, anything. They could call it the wildgrass account, but it makes more sense to say trump account.....people Definitely naturally identify it.

If its the Dell's who want to do this, then why involve the government at all?

If the Dell's want to teach the next generation about the wonderous power of compounding interest, and at the same time give them a little nest egg to help the transition to independent adulthood, it seems like an excellent idea. Take your $6.25 billion in loose change, start a 501C, hire 2 people (only one needs a finance degree), set up a website with an application process. Voila.

Instead they want to create another layer of government bureaucracy and, as you say, probably bog the system down for years in paperwork and red tape. Those kids are more likely to never see any of it.

Unless it's not about the kids. Unless the goal is to appease Trump. Unless the goal is to grovel at the feet of a fascist and hope he gives their company a tariff exemption or a no-bid military contract to squander on whatever they wish.
