@sonhouse saidUS aid to African countries amount to about $60 Billion US. African governments are laughing at the US because they take most of that money and pocket it or the buy weapons to kill their neighbours.
You didn't get the part where that was NOT just goodwill? To keep those with aids who might fly into the US and spread Aids again, that won't happen if we continue the treatments around the world.
It is not my emotional state talking about USAID, that is exactly what happened to Musk when he was a child.
We call him Muskrat because he is a POS ASSSHOLE with an anti Americ ...[text shortened]... enetration to our most sensitive data before EVER.
This is not emotional, this is SEERING HATRED.
If you cannot think of a cheaper way to keep HIV cases out of the US then you are the problem. Prior to 2010 declaring your HIV status was mandatory. If that is your concern then the US should reinstate that requirement.
I share neither your emotional attachment neither your hatred regarding this.
@Rajk999 saidI am talking about folks with aids getting treatment, not having cash pass hands.

A lot of food is given out to people who can hardly walk because they are so close to starving and as soon as that aid stopped people IMMEDIATELY stared dying.
But the utlrarightwingnuts don't give a rats ass HOW many people die of starvation we can help.
Musk as one major example.
@sonhouse saidAid has made a mess of Africa. US money is used to finance armies to kill innocent people. You really have no clue what is going on there. Try doing some reading up on it instead of focussing on Trump and Musk.

@Rajk999 saidUtter BULL S H I T. OF COURSE some of it will find its way to corruption, but people are helped and without such help they WILL die of starvation, aids, ebola, malaria and the like and I REALLY get pissed when you ultrarightwingnuts put down our help.

@sonhouse saidYou Americans really sound stupid with your childish namecalling. You cannot even carry on a decent conversation without it.

Anyway I am presenting the facts, and you are presenting your emotion.
As much as 80 to 90% of US aid to Afrian countries is lost through corruption and mismangment.
Google it yourself.
@Rajk999 saidI Get REALLY PISSED when ALL you can say is how fuuked up the US is and not a WORD about like Putin kidnapping TWENTY THOUSAND CHILDREN ripped from parents arms in Ukraine and shipping them to Russia forced to live with Russian families to become Russians.

Don't EVER hear you bitch about that but one fuuking mistake the US makes and SCREAMING how bad the US is.
@sonhouse saidMore insanity. The topic was Venezuela and American firms operating there. Then you shifted it to Africa and US aid.

The topic is not about Putin. It is only a crazy scatterbrained man like you need to bring Putin into everything.
You are a madman.
@no1marauder saidWhere is your evidence that it is an illegitimate regime?
Funny, Trump is trying to revoke TPS protection for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans who fled that "illegitimate regime".https://www.nhpr.org/new-england-news/2025-03-04/mass-haitians-venezuelans-sue-trump-administration-over-changes-to-temporary-protected-status
@wildgrass saidMost Venezuelans like the government there. You are spreading disinformation.
If Venezuelan immigrants are fleeing tyrannical, illegitimate government, then they have legit asylum claims. But trump just revoked asylum protections for Venezuelan immigrants, which implicitly means they don't think they have a tyrannical illegitimate government.
One of the many trump administration policies that conflict with each other and suggest incompetence.
@Metal-Brain saidDo you understand what putting something in " " means?

@no1marauder said“As a matter of fact, of the 92 elections that we’ve monitored, I would say the election process in Venezuela is the best in the world.”

Have you condemned Turkey for invading Syria yet?

Turkey shouldn't have troops in Syria.
@Metal-Brain saidSo your answer to my question is "no".

I haven't studied the last election sufficiently to know whether it was fair or not; my point was that this administration for purposes of oil and gas leases considers this regime "illegitimate" while for the purposes of considering whether Venezuelans who fled the regime should be allowed TPS, it considers it to have made substantial progress largely alleviating any humanitarian concerns. These positions are in obvious conflict with other.
@Metal-Brain saidThe Carter Center did declare last July that "The electoral authority’s failure to announce disaggregated results by polling station constitutes a serious breach of electoral principles,” the Carter Center said. The group, which had a technical mission of 17 experts spread out in four cities across Venezuela, added that the election did not meet international standards and “cannot be considered democratic.”
