- and a messenger!

Donald Trump's central theme of vilifying all immigrants (legal or no) has gained support from a surprisingly large block of voters, leaving Democrats fumbling for something of their own they can rally around. I've never been a Trump fan, but Trump's push to get our European allies to take more financial responsibility for their own national defense is something I whole heartedly agree with and have been advocating for years.

Democrats - Donald Trump and the GOP are not as popular as they claim, but if you folks on the left can't get your act together, with a decent messenger you can rally around, and a platform voters can get behind, you're going to get steamrolled again.

The clock is ticking Democrats - What are you going to do?

Medicare For All - dramatically lower healthcare costs and better outcomes

No More Student Loans - college will cost what it cost your parents, when you could pay for it by working a summer job

Solar Power Everywhere - sunlight is free; just need better power storage (overnight)

Political Reform - No more buying votes (aka Citizens United); no more gerrymandering

AI in Government - Greater efficiency; catching tax cheats; less bureaucracy

Have to craft this further, but along the lines of:

More Time For What Is Important - people need more time to do the important things in life; they don’t need to be struggling with red tape. Let’s streamline! [For all their rhetoric, Repubs have just made things worse!]

Feel free to disagree but as an outsider looking in:

The current Dems are weak, divided, and incompetent. Attacking men/masculinity is both stupid and a lost cause. So is saying that you cannot be racist against white people. Men are half the country and 71% are white. DEI was horribly and way to forcefully implemented in a time where young men cannot find jobs. Whoever did the analysis should never work in politics again. Going to an election of not being Trump is not politics.

The Dem response to Trump have been rather pathetic. Why are every single one of them fighting alone? Most of them look scared in their responses. "We're sending letters..." Come on. This is close to a civil war and one side hasn't even gotten out of bed.

Where's the leadership?
Where's the unity?
Where are the people who can control the news cycle?
Where are the policy makers?
I repeat: Not being Trump is NOT politics.

AOC and Kamala are light weights, Bernie is too old and too far left, Newsom has a bad economy record in California, Moore's had some tax issues, and none of them can handle what is coming when Trump's economy collapses and all former allies stop caring about the US.
Who else is there? Beshear?

The US needs someone like President Bartlett and his staff more than ever.

This is a very key question. 😆

Unfortunately, no one who is interested in ACTUAL good gummint also cares about this. 😆

I think caring about the news cycle and the country are mutually exclusive - cannot do both.

That's Bernie's and AOC's message. That's the problem. It's not the democrats' message.

The democrats have been losing on "we're better than the trumpettes" for a decade now.

I don't know why it *wouldn't* be the Dems message. Maybe they are waiting to roll it out. Or maybe the ideological struggle within the party at the moment is absorbing them. 😆

I think one of the things sandbagging them right now is: Mayor Pete.

America will not elect a gay President right now, but there is a large portion of the Dem Party that doesn't want to hear that and would rather LOSE another election than admit it. 😆

depends if you're an optimist or pessimist. for 20 years the democrats have been lukewarm, the party of "we can only improve your lives by 1%, the rest is too hard, americans are not ready for it, republicans are too mean".

I should be the Dems message. will it be? doubt.

Mamdani won the NY mayorship primary and establishment democrats are freaking out. AOC is still portrayed as radical, even by fellow democrats. The hope that something will change soon is more than a bit anemic. Looks ill. If i were hope's parent i would keep it inside the house at most open a window sometime. Definitely not going to let hope play outside.

Can you present a coherent post telling us why you think Mamdani would be good for the city of New York? And for that matter, good for the United States of America.
And if it would mean more government, could you square that with people like Thomas Jefferson who said that less government is better government?

“My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government."

free public transport, rent freeze, taxing the rich

taxing the rich would be good for all the US.
his way of campaigning and gathering support would be good for all democrats, at least for the ones who can appear genuine.

The golden calf you worship sent marines into an US city to squash "rebellion". His gestapo consists of masked goons abducting people without cause and giving them no due process. There is no bigger government than that.

Take your colossal hypocrisy, put it into a cactus and shove it straight up your output hole.

Democrats found their battle cry when Obama first ran and they aren't going to change, because it's too easy to just say this instead of dealing with the issues:
"My opponent is a racist...My opponent is a tyrant....My opponent wants to put all of you in concentration camps........My opponent sucks ......"
It's all they know.

All four are key questions in politics. After Biden lost his marbles the Dems have shown an ability to answer none of them. They knew from before everyone else that Biden was losing it. What have they done since then?

The Dems are also to blame for the disaster called Trump. And it seems they've learned nothing.

2026/2028 will be about economics (inflation, job creation, interest rates, growth, and debt), the rule of law (cleaning up all the judges that put Trump above the law), and international relationships (getting trade back).

Trump has ruined the US integrity, credibility, and reputation, Trump is currently pissing on the Constitution, and we're already seeing the effect on the economy already - and it'll only get worse.

So where is the American Carney? Where's the Ursula von der Leyen?

Who isn't part of the insider trading? Who's not in bed with "all the old men"? Who's not part of all the 2010s and early 2020s identity politics disaster?

Let me fix this for you.
The BLESSING named Trump.
The part about the Dems learning nothing is correct.
