Strangely, Governor deSantis of Florida is trying to dictate to free and independent cruise-liner companies which anti-Covid-19 measures they can require of their customers.

Not only that, but deSantis has dictatorially overridden all county and local regulations related to Covid-19.

I know he's trying to protect Florida's cash flow, but that does seem like exactly the kind of government overreach Republicans (dying party, not even conservative of anything at this stage) would squawk loudly about if the Democrats tried to pull that.

And no, I don't support the over-controlling Democrats, either. Independent in limbo. I like Mark Cuban's idea of getting rid of both parties and having ranked voting in all races up and down the ballot.

You didn't even mention the newest example in which he wants to mandate that all teachers wear body cameras to make sure they don't say anything he doesn't agree with to the malleable youths.

Ranked voting is a great idea. It essentially nullifies all the restrictive voting laws and gerrymandering going on everywhere.

I’m not convinced he gives a hoot about anyone’s cash flow but his own. I do think he’s trying to appease and mirror his favourite Floridian, the guy who’s old job he’d very much to have in the future.
This is about courting tromps base just like the legal threat to Facebook and Twitter.
