I have heard this allegation before, but it is hard to verify. I came back to this after noticing the US first imposed an embargo on the sale of arms to Cuba on March 14, 1958, during the Fulgencio Batista regime.
This does give the appearance that President Dwight D. Eisenhower wanted Batista replaced. Is there anything to this?

@earl-of-trumps saidWhat is your source of information?
Castro approached the US and asked for help. The US refused.
Castro then took help from the USSR. Up until then, he had no desire to make it a communist revolution.
