I can't help thinking that Michael Howard is barking up the wrong tree!
1) Track record: The Tories are the reason we are in such a mess with things like the NHS, schools etc
2) As a politician, Michael Howard inspires about as much confidence in me as a friend attempting to put out a chip pan fire by spittin gon it.
3) Those of the undead should not be allowed to run the government
I'll vote liberal anyway because Blair's a tw@t and I'm not a socialist, so either way I see no reason for voting labour, whether he runs or not.
Originally posted by StarrmanThe days when you had to be a socialist to vote Labour are long gone. How many of them would even use the s-word to describe themselves - not very many (2 jags, perhaps, but none of the rest).

The LibDems are certainly further to the left than Labour. By a long way.
Originally posted by StarrmanI guess voting in England is like a choice between having your nuts frizzled by a dominatrix or having hot water spouted up your bum.

Originally posted by RedmikeI think party chiefs come down heavily on MPs who use the s-word too much.

I remember when I moved to my current home, and I had left the labour party by then (but not found a new political home yet).
I must have still been listed by them as behind in my subs, because the membership secretary (who's now the MP) came to see me.
Anyway, he had picked a bad time, as I was getting the kids dinner ready etc. When he said who he was, I said something like "Sorry comrade, but can you come back at a better time". When I said the c-word, he visibly took a step backwards.
They've never been a socialist party, but socialists used to be welcome within the labour party. Not any more.
