Today I climbed out of bed and said to myself, "I'm not going to IO Software today... (a computer store I frequent but have decided to stop going there) in fact, I thought, I'm not going to go anywheres." 🙂
Okay, so the day progressed and some time in the afternoon I decided to fix myself a vodka and soda... 😵
When I placed the glass of vodka on my computer desk, I pulled the chair around to sit in it. Then I saw that my head phone cord had been caught by the arm on the chair... and that it pulled the cord up and over - right at the spot where my drink was setting! <GASP!>
Yeah, it tipped the cup over and the vodka spilled onto my keyboard! 😲 OH MY GAWD!!!
That was the end of the keyboard. Wouldn't work anymore. 🙁
So it was with a slow reality that I HAD to go to a computer store to buy another keyboard. However, it laid heavily in the back of my mind that I had told myself that "I WAS NOT GOING TOO GO TO IO SOFTWARE TODAY". And so, be it contempt or the stubborness of an old man... I went to Best Buy to buy a new keyboard. 😞
So, imagine my surprize when I was in the Best Buy parking lot and all the emplyees for the store were in the parking lot too! 😲
When I asked what was going on I was told that the power had gone off for the store... so nobody could enter the store. ARGH!!!
There were two other computer stores in the area... IO Software and Intricon Computers. I went to the Intricon store and saw that it was empty! Yup, they went out of business! Ok, ok! So I went over to IO Software and bought a new keyboard. <sigh>
Here's my question: Did I really ever have a choice today!? It appears to me that I had no choice... that whatever I did, I was going to end up at the IO Software store!
What's your take on this?

I have found repeatedly in my life that whenever I say that cursed word never I am only dooming myself to whatever it is I was never going to undertake. I believe it to be one of the most powerful words in the english language.
The only way to maintain any sense of free will is to simply surrender to not having any free will.
Although......I have spilled many cups of coffee and/or soda on my keyboard and have managed to dry it out and clean it off. So.......did you truly HAVE to go get a new keyboard today or was that you know you wanted to go despite telling yourself you didn't. 🙄
