Socialist policies have worked in nearly every country.

Healthcare for everyone, education for everyone, unemployment benefits, income taxation, union representation, women and non-land owners having the vote, labour laws, etc.

In addition to all you have written, these idiots do not realize that the snow plows, fire departments, police, public hospitals, libraries, FEMA, FDA, FAA, road maintenance, maintaining bridges and dams are all examples of socialism. The capitalist, socialist democracies of Western Europe have been very successful. There are many who have become rich, even billionaires, but function fairly well, certainly better than in the U.S., in protecting every level of their society. Are they perfect? Of course not.
