The federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. Many states also have minimum wage laws that provide for higher amounts and a qualified worker is entitled to the higher amount.

I think we all agree that $7.25 is not a living wage.
I don’t know about ‘Living wage, is that a phrase that Bernie started using instead of minimum wage? Why the confusion.?
You are correct, $7.50 might be what you pay a high school student during summer to wash cars, but an adult prob needs $30,ooo a year to live on, so $15 should be right. We agree!
CA requires a lot of expensive govt programs for all the govt-dependent people, so they need more taxes, so they should prob have a $25 min wage to collect those taxes from the wage earners. A vicious circle. really weird. I would move to another state.
And yes, each state should set the wage. Feds should have nothing to do with it. Libs think feds should have something to do with it.

well for 16 odd dollars an hour that is about 2800 a month. Tell me how someone can live in San Fran if the rent is 4500 a month?

Could you rephrase this? Don’t follow.
And comparing hotel rooms is indeed comparing apples and oranges. Some, like Emporis (sp?) are $100k/night!
But I did google most expensive city to live in.....It is San Fran. It would thus follow that hotel rooms just miiiiiiight be a tad more there than those in the South.

That rent in San Fran at 4500 a month works out to 25 dollars an hour with a full time job. That would leave me 5 bucks an hour for everything else.
Even 30 an hour is worthless in San Fran.

That is true. Of course in that pay-range, folks naturally live in less expensive places, (and less-expensive cities) , maybe sharing rent with roommates, while saving money for their future, which savings grow, leading to ability to live where ever they want to as the years go on.
    I love this country!

They can’t. I do say above “ move to another state”. San Fran is most expensive city in country. Move away. Dayton, Louisville, Omaha, Greenville SC. have nominal living expenses. And stay in south to have less chance of the overwhelming liberals.

Slaves had no choice. Not to casually compare such metters, but on the other hand, you can hardly compare the work force of America to slaves, now can you? You are off the track as usual.

I agree, if being "off the track" means disagreeing with a contemptuous right-winger like you.

O yeah?!?!? Why, if i saw you coming I would hide my wallet under a seat cushion! My elbow is actually sore from doing that every time a liberal approaches.
Do you know that you will pay more taxes in 2021???? Ha, i will actually pay less as a Socialist. There is no system that cant be worked. By the socialists, that is. The other citizens will have a harder time of it.

No argument here. I myself, regardless of net worth, would not ‘waste’ my money in CA,. Why live there, there are many states to choose from,

We SHOULD pay more taxes in 21.

Trump's BRIBE of a tax cut just allowed big corps to do a stock buy back instead of the BS they spewed about now that the tax cut was out, those companies would do the honorable thing, grow their base, hire more workers, build more factories.

BS all of it. the little guy got ZIP. the big corps got hundreds of BILLIONS.

So don't tell me about how bad taxes are.

We need to get the national debt down and the only way to do that is to increase taxes.

When the ND = 100,000 dollars per person, it is a serious issue where the INTEREST on the ND is hundreds of billions each year.

But of course that means nothing to an ultrarightwingnut like you.
