While debating with Darfius in the religion forum, I made a few connections using things I'd learned while tabletop RP gaming, while arguing with white supremicists, things I picked up in the RHP forums, and other random bits and pieces I've picked up here and there.
Please forgive and correct me for any butchering of history I perform here.
In the Dark Ages, Germanic and Norse groups attacked and conquered tremendous amounts of territory. Germanic tribes went looting, pillaging, raping and settling all over Europe after the fall of the Roman Empire. I believe some of them sacked Rome itself, and later the Germans declared themselves the rulers of the new Holy Roman Empire. Saxons, Angles and Jutes, Germanic tribes with many Norse characteristics, took over England. Northmen took land in France and it came to be known as Normandy because it was owned by Normans (Northmen). Then the Normans retook England from the Anglo-Saxons in 1066.
From these roots came both Hitler's attempts at European conquest, his ideas of the "superior northern European Aryan race", and the British Empire. The latter inspired the former. I've heard Hitler based his ideas about enslaving the Slavic peoples on the British occupation of India. From the British Empire came the United States of America.
All of these nations and groups were extremely effective militarily. These German tribes and their descendents have dominated the Western world pretty much from the Dark Ages until today.
Protestant Christianity is a child of Germany and then England, and various forms of it make up the dominant religion of the United States (and England - I heard Germany was about 50:50 Catholic/Protestant).
I've heard there was evidence that the Norse landed in North America around the year 1 A.D.
How much of this Germanic/Norse tradition is still held by the US? How much of this culture has influenced and still influences the power the US holds today?

I can't speak for much of the other history, but I have delved into norsemen quit a bit. After the initial ransacking of the viking era, the norsemen went on to assimiliate themselves into the new lands becoming farmers and traders, some even as far as russia in their trading routes.
I believe aryan means "the noble ones" There were supposd to be learned, and wise. Why Hitler chose this name to desecrate I really cannot say. Hitler being austrian by birth and having from what I can gather, absolutely no aryan heritage makes it even more puzzling.
